Healthy lifestyle funding available
The Delaware Public Health District Community Health Division announced earlier this month the availability of up to $15,000 in reimbursable grant funds that can be used towards projects that improve access to healthy food and encouraging healthy eating as well as increasing opportunities and engagement in physical activity with the goal of reducing chronic disease in Delaware County.
The 2025 Request for Proposals (RFP), which is available on the DPHD website, provides detailed information about eligibility, the background and scope of the grant, submission and award procedures, performance expectations, and general information about the grant. It also provides requirements associated with submission of the grant application and administration of the grant.
The Healthy Communities Micro Grant program at the Health District funds quick-to-implement projects and will be awarded based on the number and scope of proposals received, recommendations from the review panels, and final approval from the Health District Leadership Team and Board of Health. The DPHD reserves the right to modify the number of grants awarded or amount of funding based on the applications, geographic representation, and funds available.
All project proposal submissions are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, March 21. Proposals must be submitted electronically. Funding decisions are expected to be announced by May 2. Funded projects must be completed by Nov. 28.
Anyone with questions about project eligibility or other program details can contact Josie Bonnette at 740-203-2034 or by email at [email protected] before March 7.
