Spotify has added a host of new features to its yearly Wrapped event including a new AI podcast based on each users’ “best of 2024”.
Building on last year’s AI DJ, Spotify has collaborated with Google to produce the AI podcast. The new audio feature boasts two voices which discuss a users’ most-listened to songs and from a brief demo at an event in New York, also flatters their taste in music.
Wrapped is Spotify’s way of aggregating global streaming data across the globe, and the company announced its Top Artist for the second year in a row was Taylor Swift. As a result, the company has included Wrapped Easter Eggs for Swifties including custom animations based on each of her ‘Eras.’

While Apple Music’s top song was ‘Not Like Us’ by Kendrick Lamar, Spotify’s was Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Espresso’. The company said its top 8 streamed albums were also produced by women for the first time.
The Wrapped package also incorporates custom clips from artists and podcasters thanking fans for their support.
Spotify is a music streaming service with 252 million subscribers and over 100 million tracks. It also includes access to 15 hours of audiobooks as part of its $11 subscription tier. While competitors such as Apple and Amazon include lossless and spatial music — for no extra cost — Spotify has yet to announce a date for its long-delayed Supremium service.
