Jubilant Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers across Maharashtra are celebrating their party’s success in the Maharashtra elections and celebrations were also visible at Maharashtra BJP stalwart Devendra Fadnavis’ home.
A video of BJP worker Mohit Kamboj, who goes by the name Mohit Kamboj Bharatiya, lifting up a smiling Devendra Fadnavis amid cheers from BJP cadres and other top BJP workers has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Kamboj can be seen tightly hugging and lifting up a smiling the Maharashtra deputy chief minister and moments later Kamboj embraced Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Maharashtra BJP state unit chief, and also lifted him up, sparking cheers and laughter from those gathered.
Fadnavis is receiving strong support from BJP cadres who want to see him as Maharashtra chief minister in the new cabinet. Fadnavis served as the deputy chief minister in the outgoing Maharashtra government as the chief minister’s seat was given to Shiv Sena’s Eknath Shinde.
With some leaders in BJP also demanding that he don the mantle of the next CM, the BJP stalwart said there was no row over the CM’s post in Mahayuti- comprising BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP.
“Leaders of Mahayuti parties will decide (on next CM),” Fadnavis told reporters in Mumbai.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won 24 seats in the Maharashtra assembly elections so far and is leading in 106 others, while allies Shiv Sena and NCP bagged 15 and 14 seats respectively.
