The video resurfaced nearly a decade ago, where Caroline Dries along with her friends saw the Twin Towers collapsing after the attack.

It has been over two decades since suicide attackers decided to crash US commercial aircraft into two New York skyscrapers, killing thousands on the spot. Still one of the most traumatic and horrifying events of the century, the 9/11 attack was carried out by terrorists belonging to al-Qaeda. While the whole of America watched the horror of attacks on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, there were also a bunch of students who witnessed the entire scenario from windows, with ‘Apple Juice’ in their hands.

The video, which originally went viral a few years ago, has once again resurfaced on the internet. Caroline Dries, along with her friends, was in her room when they watched the dramatic attack on the buildings. Dries recorded the crash scene with her camcorder that she got just a week before while others entered into her room. A few minutes later, she even saw people jumping out of the building, which is assumed to be debris.

After a few minutes of being in a state of shock and confusion, Dries and her friends had no other option but to watch the scene from the window. This is when they started having their drinks, only to watch the South Tower collapsing, which left them screaming in shock. The camera also recorded the building going into dust.

In a conversation with CNN, Dries shared their experience and said, “It was very chilling. It looked like a monster and like a dust cloud, consuming everything in its path.”

As the video resurfaced, social media users took to the comment section and shared their own views. While some recalled the horrifying memories of the attack, others opened up about Dries’ video. A user wrote, “That’s a freaking dorm room! Must be nice.”

Another explained, “Before the collapses, and the second plane, a lot of people figured it was just a freak accident, and more than likely the excitement had died down at that point. They were just watching a burning building for several minutes before anything happened.”

“They did react to that. That’s why they’re drinking and on edge already,” another user added.

One asked, “So they were in good spirits while the towers were attacked and burning? But got sad when they collapsed?”

A user got nostalgic and added, “Still makes me tear up seeing it fall and knowing how many people died that day.”

On the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks this year, the video arrives as a grim reminder of how a single event impacted American lives forever.
