Donald Trump declared that he would need Jesus Christ as a “vote counter” to win California during a sit-down interview with Dr Phil in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

In the hour-long discussion, the former president suggested that “God’s hand” was involved in saving him during the attempt on his life last month so that he could save America – and the world.

Trump once again pushed that he had won the 2020 election and baselessly claimed mail-in voter ballots would result in “massive fraud.”

Ahead of the interview, Trump said that he had reached an agreement with Democratic rival Kamala Harris over the rules for their first debate on September 10.

Special Counsel Jack Smith unveiled a fresh indictment against Trump for his alleged illegal attempts to reverse his 2020 election loss.

The former president also brought back a suite of 50 trading cards “by popular demand” each featuring images of Trump striking poses, dancing, and one wearing a knock-off Iron Man suit adorned a Bitcoin logo.

Meanwhile, Arlington National Cemetery officials say that Donald Trump’s campaign staff verbally abused and pushed aside a cemetery official who objected to filming and photography at gravesites during a recent visit, NPR reports.

Harris to appear on CNN for first sit-down interview since stepping on Democratic ticket

Kamala Harris is set to sit down on CNN for her first sit-down television interview since kicking off her presidential campaign last month.

The vice president and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will speak with chief political correspondent and anchor Dana Bash in Georgia which will overlap with the pair’s bus tour through the swing state.

The interview is expected to air at 9pm ET on Thursday, as the duo hope to build upon the buzz derived from last week’s Democratic National Convention.

CNN’s political director David Chalian said branded the highly-anticipated interview as the “first time she [Harris] is going to take questions”.

Harris has faced widespread criticism from Republicans, including Trump’s running mate JD Vance, for not undertaking a formal interview with the media.

Harris’s senior aides were “deeply sceptical” that a large media interviews would have an impact on swing state voters, according to Politico.

Families of fallen Marines speak out after Trump staffers accused of ‘abusing’ cemetery official

The families of two fallen Marines killed during the US 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan have allegedly said that “the president and his team conducted themselves with the utmost respect,” following his visit to Arlington National Cemetery for a wreath-laying ceremony.

The statement comes as two members of Donald Trump’s team had been accused of having a “verbal and physical altercation” with an official during the former president’s visit on Monday, a source told NPR.

Trump released a statement on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday morning, supposedly from the families of two deceased Marines Corp soldiers: Staff Sergeant Taylor Hoover and Sergeant Nicole Gee.

Trump’s wild rant as DOJ reopens election subversion case: ‘Greatest sabotage of our democracy in history’

Donald Trump has branded Special Counsel Jack Smith’s renewed charges over the former president’s alleged attempts to interfere in the 2020 election as the “single greatest sabotage of our democracy in history”.

US prosecutors filed a new, more stripped-back indictment against Trump on Tuesday, following the Supreme Court’s presidential immunity ruling in on July 1. The High Court’s decision meant that Trump, and other presidents, have immunity for “official acts” undertaken while in office.

Trump faces the same four criminal charges, but the new indictment has taken a renewed perspective of Trump as a political candidate seeking re-election, rather than as the president at the time.

In a string of social media posts, Trump lambasted the resurrected indictment as “an effort to resurrect a ‘dead’ Witch Hunt”.

“What they are doing now is the single greatest sabotage of our Democracy in History,” he said in one post.

In a follow-up post, he added: “For them to do this immediately after our Supreme Court Victory on Immunity and more, is shocking.”

In a third he simply wrote: “PERSECUTION OF A POLITICAL OPPONENT!”
