Bengaluru residents shared visuals of jam-packed waterlogged streets online after the Silicon Valley of India received heavy rainfall.

Heavy rainfall inundated parts of Bengaluru on August 12, leading to traffic gridlock. The city’s traffic police issued alerts advising residents to avoid certain routes and exercise caution while driving on flooded roads. Many residents flooded social media with photos and videos capturing the city’s struggle with the aftermath of the downpour, including stranded vehicles and damaged roads.

“Will tell my child that nadi par karke hum office jaate the [I will tell my child that we also used to cross rivers to reach office]. Who am I kidding tho, 25 years later infra will remain the same. Silicon Valley of India just after 3 hours of rain,” reads the caption to the videos shared on X (formerly Twitter).

A journalist shared these visuals from the city.

Here’s what this individual has posted:

This X user, who shared visuals from the waterlogged south Indian city, questioned it’s infrastructure. “Monday blues topped up with Bengaluru rains. Flooding of roads caused havoc after it rained the whole night yesterday. Why do every year we end up in the same scenario?” he wrote on the microblogging platform.

This individual too highlighted the city’s bad roads while posting a video online.

According to Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) area will receive moderate to heavy rains.
