Cobra Kai is coming to an end. Nearly seven years ago, the Karate Kid sequel series made a splash on YouTube Red, the streamer’s short-lived paid subscription service. When it made the jump to Netflix, the show’s popularity exploded, setting the series on the narrative path we’ve been glued to all this time.
The last time fans checked in with Cobra Kai, Miyagi-Do was competing at the illustrious Sekai Taikai tournament in Barcelona, Spain. Needless to say, the competition ended in violence and left the crew reeling from an unexpected death. The cliff-hanger ending continued the path of the series, which has regularly bumped up the emotional stakes to keep us coming back for more.
What happens next? By the look of things, Johnny Lawrence, Ralph Macchio and their team will be heading back to where it all began in 1984: The All Valley Tournament. With just five episodes left, the show is setting the stage for an epic showdown between Miyagi-Do and John Kreese’s Cobra Kai.
Cobra Kai stars William Zabka and Ralph Macchio as enemies-turned-partners Johnny Larence and Daniel LaRusso. Joining them is a packed cast, including Martin Kove, Yuji Okumoto, Xolo Maridueña, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List and many more.
