Microsoft has updated Xbox’s PC app Home screen with a fresh look to make it easier to see new releases, sales and events, as well as adding 400 previously unavailable games to the Xbox store.
The move comes as Microsoft continues growing Xbox Game Pass, but seeks to increase discovery of titles that aren’t on its gaming subscription service. The company worked with partners to bring PC games with Xbox features into the official Xbox app, according to a blog post Wednesday.
Among the 400 titles added to the store are games from Japanese studios Kemco and Kairosoft, makers of older games like Top Gear Rally and the relatively newer Game Dev Story, respectively. Others include Shovel Knight Treasure Trove by Yacht Club and Jackbox Party Pack.Â
The announcement also comes alongside an update for Game Pass subscribers eager to stream their games. Last month, Xbox announced that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play select games from the subscription service’s catalog remotely; now, those in the Xbox Insiders community can begin streaming games they own in the same way to their Xbox Series X and Xbox One consoles.
Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who are also Xbox Insiders and live in the 28 countries currently supported in the Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta can stream their own games, according to another company blog post. Only some games are supported for streaming, from big titles like Star Wars Outlaws, The Witcher III, Space Marine II and Baldur’s Gate III to smaller games like Animal Well, Dredge and Kena: Bridge of Spirits — the entire list can be found here.
Xbox Insiders in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings can start previewing this streaming feature today. Microsoft reiterated that players will be able to stream on Xbox consoles starting sometime in 2025.
