Union Home Minister Amit Shah defended his Wednesday’s remarks about the restoration of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir while addressing a public rally in poll-bound Jharkhand’s Giridih on Thursday. He said, “Even four generations of Congress won’t be able to bring back Article 370.”
In the rally that comes a day after Jharkhand voted for Phase 1 of the assembly polls, the senior BJP leader said if his party were voted to power, it would tackle infiltration and Naxalism strictly.

“I want to tell the infiltrators that CM Hemant Soren’s government is going to end, your time will also come to an end. The BJP will throw you out of Jharkhand. Those who have encroached on the land of tribals, we will bring a law against them,” he said.
Taking a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for opposing the Waqf bill amendment, he said, “The Waqf board in Karnataka have declared villages under the property of Waqf. Centuries-old temples, lands and houses of farmers were declared as Waqf property. We will surely bring an amendment in the Waqf Bill, however, Rahul Gandhi and Hemant Soren are opposing it,”
Amit Shah’s Other Remark On Article 370
The Union Home Minister had, on Wednesday, asserted that Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, will not be restored even if Congress stalwart and late PM Indira Gandhi comes down from heaven.
The BJP’s star campaigner sought to corner the Congress over Muslim reservation and accused the main opposition party of deliberately stalling construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya for years.
Addressing a rally at Dhule in North Maharashtra, Shah said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should remember that even if his “fourth generation were to come”, Muslims won’t get reservations meant for Dalits, tribals and other backward castes.
