Six good weeks, and then…

For six weeks the 13″ MacBook Pro purchased from tekdeals was really good, but starting today video problems started appearing. There was no shock to the system. No banging, No drop. I just turned it on and a horizontal line a little more than halfway down the screen appeared. Also some light distortions in both of the upper corners are creeping in, though you can’t really see that in these photos.

The Apple diagnostic didn’t find any problems with the logic board, and the problems don’t show up when attaching an external display. In fact, the computer seems fine with an external display, but that sort of defeats the purpose of a laptop.
