Melania Trump was asked Tuesday on Fox News why she’s finally joined her husband, Donald Trump, on the campaign trail in the last leg of the 2024 race. She was largely absent from the Republican nominee’s side during the many preceding months.
“You took the stage on Sunday. You surprised the former president. You surprised the entire audience. Why now are we seeing you more on the campaign trail in the final stretch?” co-host Lawrence Jones asked the former first lady during a very friendly sit-down on “Fox & Friends.”
The former first lady didn’t provide much clarity in her answer.
“It was an incredible place. I love New York City, and I think that people to hear from me at that on that day,” she said. “The arena, Madison Square Garden, the support that we have, and I want to support my husband as well. So I was there for him and everybody else.”
Later in the discussion, she was offered a chance to weigh in on the discourse about her husband’s increasingly fascistic tendencies and reported admiration of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.

“It’s terrible. He’s not Hitler,” she said, adding, “and all of his supporters, they’re standing behind him because they want [to] see [the] country successful.”
After being just about invisible during the majority of her husband’s campaign, Melania Trump has made a spate of media appearances recently to promote her new book, “Melania.”
She was with the Republican nominee on Sunday at his hate-filled Madison Square Garden rally in New York. She also joined him for a charity dinner earlier this month where he was roasted, at one point, about that time he bragged that he can grab women by the genitals.
Prior to that, she had not joined him for any major events since the Republican National Convention in July.
