The Pogues are back — and they’re back in the treasure-hunting business, too. Netflix’s Outer Banks (or OBX) is preparing to drop a fourth season of sun-soaked adventure, shenanigans and, of course, a new mystery to solve.
Last season, our ragtag crew wrapped up a three-season story that led them all over the southeast US and the Caribbean, with plenty of action, heartbreak and love, and at long last, literal gold. At the end of season 3, John B. (Chase Stokes) and his gang, J.J. (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss), Kiara (Madison Bailey), Sarah (Madelyn Cline) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) were considering whether to jump into a brand-new adventure.Â
Season 4 will flash forward 18 months from the end of the previous season, with the crew in the midst of that new hunt. While the group pursues the treasure of Blackbeard (a real-life 17th-century pirate who roamed North Carolina’s shores a bit farther north from where the show is primarily filmed in South Carolina), they run into troubled waters and must contend with new enemies, according to Netflix’s Tudum.Â
Netflix will release the 10-episode season in two parts, starting with the first five episodes this week. Here’s what you need to know.
Outer Banks season 4 release date and time
Part 1 of season 4 is set to premiere Thursday, Oct. 10, at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET on Netflix. The first five episodes will be included in this month’s drop, with the second half of the season scheduled to arrive Nov. 7.
