Amid speculation that PDP might join the Congress-NC alliance ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir poll results, the party has issued a clarification and termed the speculations ‘unneccessary’
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday clarified its position on joining the Congress and National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir and called the buzz ‘unnecessary speculations’, stating that the senior leadership in the party will take a call after the election results are announced for the territory.
“Unnecessary speculations. Let me put the record straight. PDPs senior leadership will take a call on extending support to a secular front only once the results are out. This is our official stand,” said Illtija Mufti, who is the media advisor to PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.
