Erica Fernandes stated that her production house and event management company, Celeste Media Film Production was doing well.
Erica Fernandes became a household name with her role in the popular TV show Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi. After that, she also appeared in Ektaa Kapoor’s successful daily soap Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2. Despite her booming career, the actress decided to step away from the limelight and shifted to Dubai. In her latest interview, Erica, who was last seen in Love Adhura with Karan Kundrra on Amazon Prime Video, shared how her decision to move away was indeed beneficial and helped her do better professionally.
While talking about what led her to leave her successful career and move abroad, Erica told ETimes that she did not approve of the content on Indian television. “I took a conscious break from television because most of the content was regressive, and I couldn’t connect with it. So, it felt it was the right time to step back and focus on something more fulfilling and in line with my creative vision,” the actress told the portal. Sharing about her decision to relocate to Dubai, Erica said that her new ventures, a production house Celeste Media Film Production and Event Management Company, were doing well allowing her to channel her creativity in new, exciting ways. She said, “Moving to Dubai has been a rewarding experience. Stepping away from the limelight and starting from scratch has been humbling. Back in Mumbai, I was constantly torn between my public persona and the desire to live a normal life. Here, I’ve consciously embraced that normalcy. While I’m still recognised as an actor in Dubai, it’s nice to be viewed more as a businesswoman.”
Erica also shared that moving to Dubai has not affected the offers she gets as an actor. She stated, “My move hasn’t changed the perception, nor has it discouraged people from reaching out. I’m still getting offers, especially in the OTT space, which I am keen on exploring.”
Lastly, while the actress is enjoying herself in Dubai, Mumbai also means a lot to her. “I absolutely miss the food and the monsoons in Mumbai. There’s something irreplaceable about the city during the rains – it’s a vibe, a mood and a deep connection I haven’t found anywhere else,” she added.
