Multiple explosions reportedly rocked a large ammunition storage facility in Russia’s Toropets on Sept. 18 after an alleged attack by a Ukrainian drone. Toropets lies roughly 300 miles north of Ukraine’s border, in Russia’s Tver region. Ukrainian forces reportedly struck a Russian military base in the “annexed” region of Donetsk using US-supplied HIMARS, resulting in “massive casualties”. Ukrainian attack drones hit a heavy bomber base deep inside Russia on Sept. 17, as per Kyiv Post. Russia’s defence ministry confirmed the attack and said local air defences shot down nine Ukrainian drones attempting to strike Engels-1 military airfield in Saratov. US officials have seen Zelensky’s “Victory Plan”, and believe it “can work”, said US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield. Yegor Chernev, the head of the Ukrainian delegation to NATO, claimed that Kyiv faces pressure from the West over its demands to restore the 1991 borders.
