Former US President Donald Trump has received widespread appreciation for a heartfelt gesture to a child. A video of the boy named Liam was put on X, which included the child receiving a birthday greeting from Trump. The emotional clip published by Trump Advisor Kevin Smith on X indicates that Liam suffers from a rare brain condition and growth hormone deficit. Liam was brought to tears when he saw who had written him his birthday letter and requested, presumably, his mother to read it for him.

Smith underlined that Trump’s gesture was an authentic act of goodwill, not a PR gimmick. Before his mother asks whether he wants her to read the letter loudly, Liam carefully opens it and reads it discreetly at the beginning of the video. With tears welling up in his eyes, Liam gives his mother the piece of paper as his voice wavers.

”Meet Liam. A New York boy with a rare brain disorder and growth hormone deficiency. Who got a very special 8th birthday letter from a very special person,” the caption read.

Smith said in a subsequent post that Trump didn’t request to have the video recorded. Rather, Liam’s family provided it to him. According to him, the former president is a “good person” despite the negative portrayal that the media attempts to give him.

The post has almost 3 million views on the social media platform with users expressing gratitude for the gesture.
