As a part of his Dil Luminati tour, Diljit Dosanjh will hold multiple concerts across India this year.
It seems like the language debate is now taking over Diljit Dosanjh’s much-awaited Dil-Luminati tour in India. The Punjabi actor-singer recently announced the schedule for the tour, including concerts across major Indian cities. As a part of it, Diljit’s Bengaluru concert has become a target of jokes and memes, with many taking a jibe at the singer’s Kannada-speaking skills. It is pertinent to note that the debate over language in Bengaluru has been heating up over the past few months, with locals insisting that everyone in the city must learn Kannada.
In the wake of the ongoing controversy, the concert’s announcement has fuelled the discussions online. Several tongue-in-cheek jokes and jibes on Diljit Dosanjh have surfaced online.
A video made a sarcastic comment on Diljit being uninformed about singing in Kannada for the Bengaluru concert. “BREAKING Diljit Dosanjh cancels his concert in Bengaluru. He said he was not told beforehand that he had to sing in Kannada, he mistook it for Canada,” the comment read.

For those unaware, Diljit Dosanjh recently announced the date for the Indian leg of his ongoing music tour. While early tickets went for presale on September 10, the general tickets were sold on September 12. Unsurprisingly, all the tickets were sold within minutes of going live, leaving social media users stunned.
The tour will commence from Delhi on October 26 this year and will make its way to other cities, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Pune, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Indore, Chandigarh and Guwahati. Despite the online meme fest and remarks around the language debate, a larger section of fans have enthusiastically purchased the tickets for the concert, scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on December 6.
