Gaza’s civil defence agency said that an Israeli strike on a humanitarian zone in Gaza strip killed 40 people and wounded 60 others. The strike carried out in the early hours of September 10 hit Al-Mawasi in Gaza’s main southern city of Khan Younis.Gaza’s Civil Defence said at least 20 tents where displaced Palestinians were sleeping were hit in the attack. The area was struck by at least four missiles, according to the Reuters news agency. The area has been overcrowded with tents since many Palestinians fled there when the Israeli army designated it as a “safe zone.” Rescuers searching for survivors in al-Mawasi said Israeli missiles left craters up to 9 metres (30 ft) deep in the tent camp, as per Al Jazeera Arabic.
