Hezbollah claimed it targeted Kiryat Shmona with two separate salvos of Falaq missiles at different times on September 8. More than 50 rockets were launched from Lebanon at the Galilee Panhandle and Kiryat Shmona area overnight, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said. One Hezbollah rocket reportedly hit a building while a second hit a sidewalk, with both causing extensive damage. Hezbollah’s rocket barrage came as Israeli fighter jets struck buildings in southern Lebanon’s Aitaroun, Maroun al-Ras, and Yaroun overnight. Hamas-linked media in Gaza reported that the deputy head of internal security in northern Gaza was killed in an Israeli airstrike. Meanwhile, released Hamas hostage Aviva Siegel described the pressures of being forced to make propaganda videos for Hamas while in captivity.
