Nishad cleared a height of 2.04m in the T47 high jump event to clinch his second Paralympics medal on the trot, shared a touching moment he experienced with a young fan who attended the event.
Indian Paralympic athlete Nishad Kumar, who clinched the silver medal in his hig jump event shared a moving message following an interaction with a young fan after his milestone showing in Paris a couple of days back.
Nishad cleared a height of 2.04m in the T47 high jump event to clinch his second Paralympics medal on the trot, and shared a touching moment he experienced with a young fan who attended the event. The Indian athlete shared an update captioned, “Sharing this Paralympic medal moment with a young fan “.

“Sharing this Paralympic medal moment with a young fan reminded me why I began this journey,” his note read.
“In the stadium, I noticed a little kid looking intently at the medal around my neck. After a brief conversation with him and his mother, I learned they had come to enjoy the Paralympic Games and had a wish to see the medal up close,” he continued.
“When I offered the medal to the kid, the joy on his face was priceless. Moments like these prove that it’s more than just a medal- it’s a symbol that dreams can come true with dedication and heart,” the note added.
“Honoured to inspire the next generation,” Nishad concluded.
Nishad also clinched the silver medal at the Tokyo edition of the quadrennial event, before doubling down on his tally with yet another second-place finish at the French capital city in the ongoing campaign.

The Indian contingent have roped in 15 medals at the Paris edition of the Paralympic spectacle and are on course to break the national record for the most number of medals in a single campaign of the sporting extravaganza.

The representatives of the tricolour have 3 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals at the multi-sport event in the Parisian venue.
