Manu Bhaker won bronze medals in the 10-metre air pistol and the 10-metre air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Manu Bhaker took the Paris Olympics by storm after winning two medals at the Summer Games. Bhaker recently talked about how she was enjoying a three-month break after which she would resume preparations for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. Amid her vacation, Bhaker shared a picture of herself on Instagram while asking her fans for some movie suggestions. Focusing on some much-needed break, she wrote, “Chair’s taken, remote’s ready, now accepting movie recommendations.”

In the post, Manu Bhaker can be seen at complete ease as she sat on the sofa and she was all smiles with the TV remote in her hand. Her calm look sparked reactions from several fans in the comments section, providing Bhaker with ample film suggestions. One Instagram user wanted the star shooter to watch a fellow archer’s highlights as he wrote, “Sheetal Devi Archery Highlights.”

“Must watch all South Indian movies,” wrote another person.

One social media user suggested, “If you can, watch Maharaja.”

Manu Bhaker was in brilliant form at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 22-year-old won bronze medals in the 10-metre air pistol and the 10-metre air pistol mixed team event. She emerged as the first athlete of independent India to win two medals in a single edition of the Olympics. She also became the second Indian female athlete to win multiple medals across different editions after PV Sindhu.

Speaking about her tragic failure at the previous edition of the Olympics in Tokyo, Manu Bhaker told the Economic Times, “The situation in Tokyo took a toll on me, I was heartbroken but I was really motivated for the next Olympics but 2022 and 2023 was tough. Before the Olympics, I was not able to win any individual medal, so I was not confident. My coach and parents were confident in me When you are really focused, you get good results.” She even talked about her break and said, “I have not had a break from the sport for eight years.”

Having won the bronze medal in 10m air pistol event in Paris, Manu Bhaker succeeded in ending India’s 12-year wait for an Olympic medal in shooting. Her record-breaking performance at the Olympics 2024 helped Bhaker in securing her place among the great Indian athletes.
