The crematorium located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, is undergoing a rapid transformation to bring some comfort to those visiting in times of grief.
Led by Mrs Jyoti Gupta, President of Etawah Nagar Palika Parishad, efforts are underway to change the appearance and ambience of the crematorium. Traditionally viewed as a sombre and unclean place, the crematorium in Etawah is being turned into a tourist attraction. A large statue of Lord Shiva, complete with a flowing waterfall, has been installed as part of this initiative.
Additionally, a spacious park has been created and large halls equipped with coolers and an air-conditioned room have been constructed to accommodate those accompanying funeral processions. The facility also includes lockers and newly built cottages, adding to its grandeur. Visitors are full of praise for the unique crematorium on the banks of the Yamuna River in Etawah.
The crematorium features spacious halls with marble flooring and steel chairs for seating. To provide comfort during the summer, coolers and fans are installed. There’s also an air-conditioned hall with black granite stone, adding a touch of luxury. Additionally, a locker facility is available where people can safely store their relatives’ ashes until they are ready for immersion at their convenience.
