The 25-year-old techie shared that his unhealthy lifestyle took him to the hospital.

Waking up early, sipping a strong coffee, and diving straight into a multi-screen setup for a marathon of calls and tasks—is how many are striving to build their purpose-driven empires. But is this approach truly effective? The hustle culture promotes the idea that relentless work is the key to success, but it often leads to overworking and negatively impacts mental and physical health. Recently, a real-life example caught the internet’s attention: a Mumbai-based entrepreneur was hospitalised due to the pressures of embracing the trending “hustle culture.”

Kritarth Mittal, who is the founder of the AI-startup Soshals app, ended up choosing a lifestyle, of all-nighters, less sleep, and an unhealthy diet. All of these got him nothing but a full trip to the hospital. Taking to his social media handle, Mittal shared a picture of himself from the hospital bed and raised concerns about the dangers of hustle culture. “Hustle culture comes with a cost — some you incur right away and some over decades. Choice is yours. I’m just here to show you the ugly side of it so you don’t get swayed easy. This is me after pulling all-nighters, sleeping for <5-6 hours, and no diet plan," he wrote.

The 25-year-old techie also shared that his routine has been the same since his college days, further adding, “Now my body has started to remind me that I am not 20 anymore.” Reacting to his social media post, many dropped diverse views and suggestions for him. A user wrote, “Get Well Soon! At times being extremely involved into learning / working, will help you lifelong. If you have learned it the right way. I have been through the same, the book “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” helped me to find the balance.”

Another commented, “You should never pull all-nighters. Sleeping for atleast 7-8 hours a day and not drinking or smoking has made me sustain this long. The code that we write during the all-nighters can be always written in the morning after a nice sleep. This is the strategy I use.”

“Get well soon Kritarth! Lately I’ve learned it too, as much as hustle is important- the same goes for personal health and family time too ???? I’ve strictly spared a few 2-3 hours dedicated to personal care and family time- these can’t be traded off for anything,” another comment read.

The post reiterates the discussions around the need to prioritise health over work, setting clear boundaries, and dedicating more time to personal well-being.
