A Vadodara man revealed on Reddit that the relentless downpour has submerged and severely damaged his three cars, which were parked in his bungalow’s driveaway.

Heavy rains in Gujarat have created havoc, causing severe water-logging and flood-like situations across the state. In Vadodara, the situation has become particularly dire for residents. One local shared his distressing experience on Reddit, revealing that the relentless downpour has submerged and severely damaged his three cars, which was parked in his bungalow’s driveaway.

The Vadodara resident also posted images of his vehicles – an Audi A6, a Ford EcoSport and a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz – partially submerged in several inches in water. Expressing his frustration, he stated that he feels there is “nothing left to live for anymore” after losing his three cars.

“There’s nothing left to live for anymore. All the three cars mentioned in my flair are now gone,” he wrote on Reddit.

He also countered claims that the damage was due to cars being parked on the street. According to him, vehicles were securely parked inside his bungalow in a well-maintained society with ample parking spaces. He detailed that water had seeped into his home by seven inches and had risen nearly four feet outside, affecting the entire neighbourhood.

“I stay in a 5 BHK bungalow. In a society with 85 houses. We have 3 car parkings PER HOUSE. Water has seeped 7 inches by far now into my house and almost 4 feet outside my house. What could I have done? The whole area or the whole city has been affected,” he wrote.

The Reddit user also claimed that this is the third incident where he has faced flooding, having previously encountered similar issues in his old society.

“This is like the 3rd time I’m facing this. Twice in my previous society (with completely different cars) and the first time in 4 years at this new place,” he mentioned.

Since being shared a day ago, the post has garnered significant attention online. The comment section buzzed with a variety of reactions from social media users.

One user commented, “I wish we could hold municipal corporations accountable for waterlogging of this magnitude. It’s done in the UK. This is the only way we can make sure we get the service we deserve. Just heartbreaking seeing cars ruined for no fault of our own.”

Another added, “The best you can do is take stock once the water recedes and hope the situation is salvageable to some extent. Rough luck buddy. You’ll get through this.”

“The tax burden in India is as massive as the Himalayas, and the state of infrastructure is even worse than in many Sub-Saharan countries,” someone else shared.

Comments continued to pour in with one user expressing, “Bro this is sad!!” and another commented, “So sad buddy.”
