The 24-year-old woman shared a long post, asking for ideas from people about a better option between Mumbai and Goa.
Recently, a 24-year-old US woman sought advice on which city would be a safer home base for her in India. Taking to Reddit, the anonymous user shared her preferences for living in India, further adding that she will be moving for a year and will work remotely. “I am a 24F from the USA and moving to India for a year. I will be working full-time remotely. I have many hobbies and want to visit other parts of India during the year, but I would like to have a home base in one safe location. What is daily life like in Mumbai and Goa?” the user asked. Many users engaged with her while suggesting their views, opening a discussion.
Continuing further, the woman highlighted her knowledge about both cities. She observed that while Mumbai is a highly populated, bustling cosmopolitan city that never sleeps and where people are generally respectful and warm, Goa is known for being super green and calmer but has a significant tourist presence. The 24-year-old noted that Goa’s housing seemed more suited to her preferences.
Additionally, the woman also looked forward to a place where she could do archery, acro yoga, martial arts, Pilates, indoor rock climbing, hiking, camping, swimming, and other outdoor activities.
In a bid to clear her doubts, many dropped various responses and suggestions. Many users suggested she divide her time between Goa and Mumbai to experience different lifestyles and then make a decision.
A user wrote, “Bombay is the city for you. It has everything activity-wise.”
While another commented, “It completely depends on the kind of life you choose to live since you’re shifting here, both of them are gonna be tough, but Mumbai is a very fast-paced city, and at the same time, Goa is a slow life.”
“I’d say stay in Mumbai, first visit Goa in between, and see what suits you best. As per your hobbies and activities you’re interested in, I think Mumbai would suit you better,” another comment read.
A user added, “Depends on what your profession too, no? You should also see if there is a work community too. Most likely, you should get all of it in Mumbai. Goa is usually a place to de-stress.”
