Many users expressed surprise and sympathy at the amount of hard work required for a small amount of money.
While ordering from delivery apps, we seldom wonder about the plight of executives who work round the clock for our convenience. A viral video takes us to the other side to show the amount of work a delivery executive puts in to make Rs 20 on Zomato. The video has invited a string of reactions, with nearly 900 comments.
Watch it here:
Munna Kumar Guddu, a delivery executive for Zomato, and a part-time vlogger shared a video walking viewers through each step of the process involved in completing a single order through the food delivery platform that earned him Rs 20.
The video begins with him accepting an order, collecting it, and then moving to the delivery address. Finally, after completing all these steps, the order is marked delivered and he earns Rs 20 for his efforts.
This video has attracted numerous reactions, with many expressing shock and sympathy at the amount of hard work that goes into making a small amount of money.
Criticising Zomato, a user commented, “If you don’t work hard, how will the founder buy a Bentley?” Another user added, “Meanwhile, Zomato is paying crores to software engineers.”
Another comment pointed out the differences in pay for similar work in other countries saying, “Do the same job in a Western country, and you’ll be paid a minimum of 10 times this. Our country is doomed, as long as income inequality persists. We’re not going anywhere.”
“That’s very sad, that pays so less! You all should raise your voice for a pay raise,” suggested another user. “Always tip the driver even if it is just 10 rupees,” advised another.
Meanwhile, some users also said that Rs 20 earned was only the tip and not the salary.
Munna Kumarguddu is no stranger to sharing his experiences online. He regularly posts videos showing his work with various delivery services and cab-hailing companies under the username TechMan Ji.
