While travelling in Telangana, a pregnant woman suddenly developed labour pains and a female conductor along with a nurse stepped in to help with the delivery.

A pregnant woman, travelling on a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus, went into labour and delivered a baby with the help of a female bus conductor and a nurse. Travelling from Gadwal to Wanaparthy, the pregnant woman suddenly developed labour pain.

The bus was stopped immediately and a female conductor stepped in to help with the delivery. Coincidentally, a nurse was also present on the bus, making sure both mother and baby were safe. The Managing Director of TGSRTC, VC Sajjanar praised the conductor’s quick thinking and kind nature for ensuring a smooth delivery. After the baby was born, the mother-daughter duo was taken to a nearby hospital for further care.

Sharing the picture of the female conductor, along with the baby and mother on X, TGSRTC MD wrote, “On Monday morning, a pregnant woman named Sandhya was going to Wanaparthy to tie rakhi to her brothers on the occasion of Raksha bandhanan in the Gadwal-Wanaparthy route village bus. As soon as the bus reached Nachahalli, the woman suddenly got stomach pains. The female conductor G Bharati, who was immediately alerted, stopped the bus. With the help of a nurse who was travelling in the same bus, the pregnant woman gave birth to a female child.”

“The mother and child were taken to a local hospital. At present the mother and child are safe. Congratulations on behalf of the management to the conductor Bharti. The mother and child are safe because of her promptness and timely delivery with the help of the nurse. It is a great thing that RTC employees are showing the spirit of service as a social responsibility while bringing the passengers safely to their destinations,” VC Sajjanar added.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Done great job by Conductor on duty and Nurse. My best wishes to both of them. Also my wishes to newly born baby.”

“All heroes don’t wear capes,” a comment read.

An individual asked, “That’s why sir, we are requesting you, to please provide separate buses for pregnant women and old people with first aid kits.”

One more added, “The conductor has to be given a special increment.”
