Neeraj Chopra delivered a stellar performance and made India proud by securing the silver medal at the Paris Games.
The entire nation held its breath as Neeraj Chopra competed in the javelin throw finals at the Paris Olympics 2024. While expectations were high for another gold medal, it was Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem who clinched the top spot. Nonetheless, Chopra delivered a stellar performance and made India proud by securing the silver medal. As Chopra took to the field, Indian viewers were gripped with anticipation. Amit Khatri, co-founder of Noise, shared intriguing details on LinkedIn about the intense emotions experienced during the event. His post highlighted that the company analysed data from around 3 million users and found that the average heartbeat of Indians watching Chopra’s throws was significantly elevated.
Sharing the post, the entrepreneur wrote, “Here’s a heartfelt shoutout to Neeraj for clinching Silver – what a spectacular performance. The entire country is beaming with pride, and so are we at Noise. It was a thrilling moment, we were all on our feet, hearts racing, cheering for our golden boy. Speaking of hearts racing, during the event, the average heart rate of active Noisemakers was off the charts. Over 17,000 Noisemakers participated in our throw prediction and more than 50% nailed it by guessing Neeraj’s throw right on point. It’s amazing to see the enthusiasm and insight our community shares.”
According to a graph, viewers’ heart rates fluctuated significantly during the javelin throw finals. When Arshad Nadeem set a new record with a 92.97m throw, viewers’ heart rates surged. However, Neeraj Chopra’s subsequent 89.45m throw ignited even greater excitement. During Chopra’s third attempt, viewers’ heart rates spiked to over 90 beats per minute. Following this throw, the heart rate dropped and remained subdued for about 45 minutes as other competitors took their turns. The excitement peaked again during Chopra’s final throw, with heart rates approaching 90 beats per minute.

However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, that historic win took place in an empty stadium. At the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian fans filled the stadium to show their support. Notably, while Chopra claimed gold in Tokyo, Arshad Nadeem bagged the silver medal.
