Swifties in Vienna received free Swarovski crystal necklace from the Kristallwelten store in exchange of their cancelled show tickets.
Taylor Swift fans travelled from across the globe to attend Eras Tour in Vienna, only to get the heartbreaking news of the show’s cancellation due an alleged terrorist attack. The pop sensation was forced to cancel three shows due to security concerns, but the Vienna Tourist Board stepped in to delight Swifties. Taking to their official social media handle, the board shared various exciting ways, including discounted shopping, food coupons, free museum visits and special local attractions, to turn the sad situation into a memorable experience. However, the real highlight was the free Swarovski crystal necklace from the Kristallwelten store in exchange of their cancelled show tickets
Fans couldn’t wait to share their excitement on social media, as they posted videos of long lines and photos of their sparkling necklaces. The designs included colourful pendants and clear blue stones. However, just a day later, the Vienna Tourist Board announced that the store had run out of necklaces due to the high demand. However, without disappointing the attendees, they offered discounts on their products exclusively for Swifties. Even though the shows were cancelled several days ago, Taylor Swift is yet to address the situation publicly.

Taylor Swift was scheduled to perform three shows at Ernst Happel Stadium from August 8-10, but the shows were cancelled at the last minute. Swifties didn’t let the situation spoil their mood, as fans gathered on the streets of Vienna, sang some of her biggest hit tracks and exchanged their signature friendship bracelets. Videos circulating online captured the scene as fans were also holding signs to show support and continued to celebrate their favorite artist despite the disappointment.
As per Wall Street Journal, a Taylor Swift fan claimed she spent over $2,000 (approximately Rs 1 lakh) on flights and on Airbnb with friends to celebrate her 50th birthday. However, when she came to know about the show’s cancellation, she said, “I just started screaming. We pretty much didn’t sleep last night. I keep on trying to tell myself, ‘I’d rather be sad than dead’.”
Reportedly, two teenagers were arrested in connection with a suspected plot to attack Taylor Swift’s concerts in Vienna. Authorities say the main suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian, along with a 17-year-old partner, planned to use explosives and knives to target the attendees. On the other hand, an 18-year-old Iraqi national was detained as part of the investigation.
