Four years ago, Mandira Bedi and her late husband Raj Kaushal made the heartfelt decision to adopt a baby girl. In July 2020, they welcomed their daughter Tara into the family. Today, Mandira Bedi is celebrating the joy Tara brought into their lives. In a heartwarming Instagram post, she shared a video filled with sweet family moments and candid pictures of her daughter.
“4years since you made our lives a #BetterPlace !! Thank you Tara for coming into our lives. We are blessed to get to #love you.. May every dream of yours come true.. I want you to #haveitall and MORE!!! #celebratingTara #tarashomecoming,” she wrote.

Fans instantly reacted to the video with heartwarming reactions. A fan wrote, “God Bless Tara, her brother who is watching her back and the Angel who made this happen and stays in the fight,” while another commented, “Only you can do it. I’ve always believed you for the last 20 years. Much love from New Delhi, hit it girl, just beat it!!!!”
“Strong women create history. Uff these pictures are so powerful,” one wrote.
In a previous conversation, Mandira Bedi opened up about their decision to adopt Tara. “When we got married, I was not ready to get pregnant for a while. I was too busy doing cricket; a couple of my contracts didn’t allow me to get pregnant, and then there was someone in my family who was trying to get pregnant and was doing IVFs, and the IVFs were failing. And then I realised, I do want to be a mother. I am not going to let life pass me by. I do want to be a parent,” she told Humans of Bombay. She further shared that she welcomed their first child, Veer, after 13 years of marriage, something that made her want more.
She recalled searching for a child after her son turned nine and eventually found Tara, who was from Tikamgarh, Jabalpur. “For a girl who never sat in a car, she came in a private jet. It was naseeb, kismat. We wouldn’t have used a private jet, but it was too dangerous to fly commercially because Covid was at its peak,” Mandira shared, noting that it was during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mandira shared that while it was initially a little difficult for Veer to accept Tara into the family, the kids grew fond of each other over time.
