Israel is expecting a major Iranian attack within days, several media outlets reportedly on August 11. Axios news outlet reported that Israel now assesses Iran will launch a direct attack within days, possibly before August 15 ceasefire-hostage deal talks.The reports marked a reversal of the earlier assumption that Iran, under international pressure, had abandoned plans for a large-scale attack.Iran was expected to leave the response to Hezbollah, after Israel killed its top commander Fuad Shukr in a Beirut airstrike just hours before Hamas chief Haniyeh’s assassination. Israel blamed Shukr for numerous attacks on civilians, including the July rocket strike that killed 12 children on a soccer field in Majdal Shams, Golan Heights.
